SOL vs 7 year limit! 🤔🤔

By FEDERAL law, negative items stay on your credit report for no longer than 7 years. Your STATE statute of limitation (SOL) might be lower or higher than 7 years. The SOL governs how long creditors have to pursue you in court. (Bankruptcy is one exception to the 7 year rule)
