Prairie Pulse: Frank Abagnale

Frank Abagnale Jr. is best known to Americans as the con man and impersonator portrayed by Leonard DiCaprio in Steven Spielberg’s 2002 film “Catch Me If You Can”. Now, Abagnale works as a security and fraud expert, and recently he was in Fargo at the invite of AARP of North Dakota to talk to seniors about ways to avoid getting ensnared by fraudsters and con artists. Prairie Public’s Doug Hamilton had a chance to sit down with Abagnale and interview him about his unusual and amazing life.

  20. Jeff Whitman says:

What Mr. Abagnale doesn't say is that it is much easier today for the government to track you, to set you up, and to catch you. And this is why crime rate is low. But law enforcement people don't want to brag about this fact because they don't want to lose their nice government job. My other complaint with Mr. Abagnale is that all of the solutions that he and the FBI can come up with to protect you are solutions that are based on the current system of society that we are currently in. And all of those solutions thus help to reinforce our current system, and that is really dangerous, especially when you consider that our current system is NOT SUSTAINABLE! Frank, helloooo! You want everyone to have a credit card? What about the people who are just bad with money and cards. You want those people to have a credit card? Credit cards are only good if you continually track what you spend. Credit cards are not good for people who don't make a whole lot of money and who don't want to track everything they spend. The problem, Frank, is that this society and the world is money centric. The more we can get away from a money based economy, the better our chances of all of us living in a humane, well-adjusted, and peaceful society, and that is something that I believe Mr. Abagnale doesn't understand.

  21. Jeff Whitman says:

He said he had a bank account, and he cashed bad checks? How could he not get caught, I don't understand.

We have a criminal, corrupt, immoral and deceitful monetary system.

It is astounding that we continue to allow central banks and the fed to exist. They have always been a secretive, crooked and in equitable operation.

There is overwhelming evidence we've been lied to and deceived for millennia on a grand scale about almost everything by a group of greedy, dysfunctional, entitled,  "elites," 13 families, council of 300 et al.

A huge tapestry of deceit, greed & secrecy, to control and keep the true nature of humanity from ourselves, our history, true origin, destroy our pineal gland and keep us tied to debt, cause constant wars, confusion and tension for them to get more wealth, control and power over us until we and our descendants are eternally enslaved in this NWO Luciferian web.

From the Annunaki, Adamu, even our redacted, edited and corrupt bible, nibiru, monoatomic gold, religion, wars, Lincoln, Jackson, Garfield, JFK,  the federal reserve, USS Liberty,  giant skeletons, abduction/disappearances, pedophilia, PNAC, COFR, Tri Lat Comm to 911 and now the war on "terror." The best way we can support our troops is by bringing them home now. Let's stop battling enemies of the fed and start helping folks and create heaven on earth as we should.

  31. Ben Flynn says:

Well, is it that Abagnale was so smart or that people in the 60s were so deferential to guys with greying hair, uniforms or college diplomas? He'd have a hard time downing stewardesses these days – and that's assuming he'd be carried for free in the age of low-cost flights and no deadweight. His biggest trump card was his smooth affable delivery. But most people these days would be suspicious of someone putting so much effort into being nice . . . Wonder what his brothers thought of him ? Must've been hard on them being asked "are you anything to that Abagnale the paperhanger?" all the time.

  32. Markus E says:

A criminal awarded by the FBI and the government. Movies many times also glorify criminals and movie goers ignore such criminals, like mafia movies and the real life criminals. He should have served all his time in prison and not awarded such privilege. I praise no such criminals. He is still a criminal until he serves his time. The many comments speaking well about him are why the world is a very, very stupid place.

Leonardo DiCaprio did look young for the movie, and is still a child now. But I did not notice much if at all, any progressive propaganda, so I bought the movie for home. I like movies made before 1950, and usually later movies that are based on true stories, that could only happen in "the land of opportunity". 🙂
I love movies that show a inspiring individual who did great things in a free society. With out that, what do we look up to,—and how is that future?
