Police Reform: Progress and Pitfalls -A Mini-Course Offered by the NU Emeriti Organization and EPL
No issue has dominated the news during the last year and a half like the nature of policing. Are police abuses endemic to the system? What are the realistic prospects for reform?
Join us for this non-credit, no-charge single-session mini-course on the issues involved with police reform. It was taught by Prof. emeritus Wesley Skogan of Northwestern’s Department of Political Science and Institute for Policy Research. Prof. Skogan is the author of numerous books on policing with an emphasis on Chicago. We will seek to answer the questions above, in addition: Are reform measures politically possible? Will (enough of) the public actually support them?
