    Helpful info, thank you! Also, with tip #5, if you are buying a condo you'll have to factor in whether you can afford the monthly HOA fees. Some condos have lower fees than others. I had budgeted for a certain amount when I was condo buying, but ultimately fell in love with a condo that had higher fees than what I was aiming for. Luckily I was able to make it work with some adjustments to my budget, but I think some folks don't initially factor in costs like that when they are home buying, especially repair and maintainance costs.
