Experian does nothing but lie to cfpb and validate the accounts as accurate I’ve had such a hard time with this bureau the last few months

    They refuse

  4. poconofwok says:

Credit bureaus don’t care about accuracy, it’s not important to them.

I had the same problem with Experian except it was addresses 20 to be exact and 10 phone numbers that weren't mine. I tried the letters first the I file a complaint with the cfpb and they did nothing I knew they would do nothing, my goal was to show them that I will take action. After the cfpb response I called Experian fraud department and they removed everything. I didn't call them first because I needed a paper trail of action in case I needed to file a lawsuit.

I spoke to TransUnion. The rep said that they do not remove collections. They say that they write a letter to the collection agency&ask them to remove the account from my profile. Why did I ask them that? The statute of limitations in my state is 4 years.TransUnion says that I have to provide proof of that law. But the collection agency can provide proof of the federal law being 7 years,to TransUnion, and not have to remove the account. Because they have proof of a law as well. So the federal statute of law supercedes the state law? So dispute letters for statute of limitations is redundant&ineffective? My medical collections are over 5 years old. Do I have to wait another year and a half for the collections to fall off?

Same thing sort of happened to me. Had a Home Equity Loan that was paid off and the bank who bought it from original bank put it on my Credit report as a double ding with both Banks listed. I called the Bank and they contacted all three Bureaus and only TransUnion took it off. I then wrote to the other two ,just waiting for a response.
