When you are able to negotiate a lower debt amount, why is it that they can take the difference between what you owe vs what you settle on and turn it into the IRS 1099 as income?
I just got served a summons from LVNV Funding llc. Idk what to do since I had already put all my debt in a consolidation company names Top Flight. They told me that this company was a hard one to get past, but I still went forward for all the other debt. Now I believe I was served before and ignored it and i never heard back. Now that I am older I want to make sure I am not doing more harm then good. Do you have any advice? Your the best btw and thank you for doing these videos.
