Here is one that your first loophole reminds me of. A few years ago, I took out a loan from my 401k to pay off my high interest debt. 401K loans do not report to any credit bureau.

My scores shot up and I have obtained a few better credit cards, which I have religiously paid off in full every month. I just found a better job last month, and I was able to find a low interest personal loan to pay back my 401K loan so I would not get hit with the taxes and penalty, since the remaining loan balance would be considered a withdrawal.

The new inquiries and loan have both hit my reports as of yesterday, and I was surprised that they did not bring my vantagescore down very much. I think I will be able to check Fico in a couple weeks. Not that it really matters today, since I am not contemplating getting another card until late summer or early fall.

What's your thoughts on some of those so called credit repair companies? Never had to use one,but always suspicious of them.
