    Will you be having another webinar? Can you sugguest7 a lawyer in Virginia? I don't know why but now the collector of this $3000+ amount is saying I paid them $1. I have never even contacted them.

    What does one do if you already filled and sent everything. Years later same place (changed name) resends you a letter saying you have 30 days to dispute. Do you really have to start over or just say that you already sent papers?

    What about when they report: “Previously in dispute – now resolved (consumer disagrees)” ??

    Let me ask you a question … what constitutes a missed payment ? What if you were still making small monthly payments trying to chip away at the debt, not the minimum payment, but an amount agreed to by the creditor's customer service representative … is the relationship between creditor and debtor still legally binding, and the original creditor retains jurisdiction?

    Its always good to get proofs etc before suing and attaching to the complaint.. Puts fireworks where the sun does not shine… Yuh the lawyers always say only $1000 damages.. But it's confusing as to measure what is "actual damages" ie you get a offending letter, what "actual damage" is that?…. The courts say that emotional damages is not a "actual damage" no?..

    I just learned today that a phone call at 5am from a debt collector apparently isn't considered a communication under FDCPA if the debt collector doesn't say anything and hangs up on me. If that's the only instance of an inappropriate call, is there a way to go after them for this? I will have to pursue this on my own. They also have an active lawsuit against me, which I have answered and hope to settle. Is it worth small claims court or something?

    You are a life saver! Although, sadly, I cannot hire you, your incredibly detailed information is just amazing, and although I've challenged errors on my credit report back in the early 2000's, a lot has changed since then and you keep me up to date! The section 1692e(8) is a powerful tool that I really didn't know about. Thanks to you, I'm a more knowledgeable consumer and I will continue to follow and watch your highly informative vids.
    By the way…both Equifax and TransUnion have rejected my request for a weekly FREE consumer disclosure. I've written Equifax and pointed this out, and within 5 days they sent me a paper copy. Now TransUnion is playing that little game. This should be illegal because not everyone knows that the extension for a weekly FREE credit file was extended till April 2022.
